About Us

Partner for Quality Care is managed by the independent, nonprofit Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation. This website is dedicated to providing Oregonians with information they can use to help them get quality health care. Quality health care is:

  • Care that works — you should be given care that medical research has shown works best to catch health problems early, find out what's wrong, and help the most with the fewest side effects.
  • As safe as possible — your health care should help you and not cause you harm.
  • Timely — you should get as much care as you need as soon as you need it, but no unnecessary care.
  • Appropriate and involves you — your care should be given by health professionals who are skilled, knowledgeable, and respectful. They should be clear communicators and involve you in decisions about your care.

Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation

We are an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality and affordability of health care in Oregon by leading community collaborations and producing unbiased information. We work with the members of our community — including consumers, providers, employers, policymakers and health insurers — to improve the health of all Oregonians.

Founding Partners and Sponsors

Our work is nationally recognized. We are a designated Chartered Value Exchange from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in recognition of our leadership to improve care in Oregon. We are also one of 16 communities nationwide participating in Aligning Forces for Quality, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's signature effort to lift the overall quality of health care in targeted communities, reduce racial and ethnic disparities and provide models for national reform. We are also a member of the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement.

Our consumer materials were developed in partnership with McGee & Evers Consulting, Inc. (Some parts of these materials were adapted from the Communication Toolkit that was developed by the American Institutes for Research with funding from the California HealthCare Foundation. The National Business Group on Health maintains and hosts the Toolkit website.)

Our web site development partner for this project is Squishymedia.
